About Kirby

Hi everyone! Welcome to The Maritime Historian.

My name is Kirby and I’m a 20-something year old with an M.A. in History. Needless to say, history is a huge passion of mine.

I am a generally a big nerd with interests from board games, tv shows, politics, cats, philosophy, travelling, and reading. I grew up travelling across Nova Scotia and the Canadian Maritimes with my family, stopping at countless historical sites along the way. This, coupled with my love of reading, led me to study history and start a career in the field.

This blog shares what I love about the past and my adventures exploring history off the beaten path.

Meet me here to talk about historical sites, museums, book reviews, and the occasional cup of coffee.

Looking forward to sharing my experiences with you and sparking conversation about history!

Happy reading,

Kirby
